Fire completely destroys the Norwood Truck Wash and Chrome Shop, which is located along Highway 60 in Norwood, just next to the Travel America Express. Norwood Fire Chief Brad Campbell said the fire was through the shop’s roof when the Norwood Volunteer Fire Department arrived on the scene after receiving a call at around 4:42 a.m. on Thursday, June 13. There were four different trucks as firefighters from both Norwood and Mansfield responded to the scene before most responders left between 9-10 a.m. No injuries were reported. Back in February 2023, the business owner, Billy Dean Gleason, was arrested with five other people and was charged with trafficking drugs in the first degree. A sentencing hearing for his case is scheduled for July 11 at the Wright County Circuit Court in Hartville after he plead guilty back on April 30. No cause for the fire was available at press time.
