Josie Sullivan, the third all-time scorer in Norwood girls basketball history, has officially signed a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Baptist Bible College. Sullivan was joined by several family members, friends, coaches and future teammates at her official signing on Tuesday, May 26 inside her mom’s business, Red’s Slice & Scoop.

“I’m very fortunate and I’m very happy,” Sullivan said at the event. “I know I would not be in this position if it wasn’t for my coach my teammates and my family. I’m really excited to keep playing.”

Norwood head girls basketball coach Shannon Crain called Sullivan a “very hard worker” as he gave some remarks to those in attendance.

BBC assistant basketball coach Brian Peck noted that Crain’s description has been a common thread among players recently signed by a collegiate program that is restarting in the fall. BBC recently signed Mansfield’s Chloe Lansdown and Willow Springs Darcy Poynter. Both players were at Sullivan’s signing.

Sullivan becomes the fourth player BBC has signed who plays for a school just off Highway 60.

“You can always teach people skills, but you can’t teach them to be a hard worker,” said BBC head coach Casey Fowler.
