Posted

The following is being posted on wrightcountyjournal.com and on Facebook for election candidate Danny Lathrom due to a printing error in the March 27 issue of the Wright County Journal. We truly apologize for this error.

Profile:

I am Danny Lathrom a Wright County native and a Mountain Grove graduate from the class of 1971. I have been married to my wife, Lori, for 42 years and we have two daughters, Danetta and Brittany. All of them are Mountain Grove graduates. We have four grandsons, three currently in the Mountain Grove Schools and one who will be joining them next year as a preschooler. I retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.

Q&A:

  1. What is your vision for the position you are filing for?

I would like to help assist the Board of Education in making decisions for the best possible work environment for all school employees and the best learning environment for all children.

  1. Why should voters choose you for this position?

I have completed 69 credited hours of school board education from the Missouri School Board Association over my years on the school board. The knowledge from these hours has allowed me to keep the best interest for the school employees and children.  As a school board member I will listen to the public on issues they are concerned with and present their concerns to the board.

  1. If elected, what are 1-2 items you will focus on improving and why did you choose those items?

If elected I will focus on continuing to improve the salary of teachers and school employees in the district. I choose this because I believe if we offer the best salary, we have the opportunity to hire the best teachers and staff giving an improved quality of education to our children.  I will also focus on the overall wellbeing of the school, including upkeep and maintenance, so that the teachers, employees and children have a clean and safe environment to work and learn.
