Patricia Marlene Ross passed from this life on Wednesday June 10, 2020, at the age of 78. She was born on Oct. 31, 1941, in Springfield, Ill., in Sangamon, County, the daughter of Mary Florence (Hall) and Paul Lewis Donaldson.
It would be wrong to say that Patricia lost her battle because she never stopped fighting. No matter how bad she felt, she was always determined. When anyone else would have broken, Patricia stayed strong. Through her, we know what resilience and perseverance truly look like. There was no quit in Patricia. Just because she is no longer here, it doesn’t mean she lost her fight. You are the sunlight in our day. You are the moon we see far away. You are the tree we lean upon. You are the one that makes troubles be gone. You are the one who taught of life, how not to fight and what is right. You are the words inside our song, you are our love, our life, our mom. Patricia was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd; her son, Micah; and her parents. Those left to cherish her memory are eight children, Joel and Joy, of Springfield; Kelly, Aaron, Allen and Julie, of Cabool; Floyd, of Marshfield; and Jess, of Licking; 16 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren and other family members.
