In about one year from now, Mountain Grove will be the home of a brand new 55-room, three level hotel with an indoor pool, conference room and exercise room.
Toby and Erin Thompson, with Thompson Lodging, LLC, officially purchased the property in October 2020 that is located just off 19th St., behind McDonald’s. Their plans include building a brand new Comfort Inn & Suites location.
“We like it being close to the exit (and location to the restaurants),” Toby Thompson noted.
Work started on the site Oct. 4-5 and plans are for the project to be completed between August-October of 2022.
“We see the need for hotels in our area,” added Erin Thompson, who noted there were a limited number of hotel rooms available between West Plains and Springfield. The couple is grateful they get to help Mountain Grove with this new economic development venture.
An official ribbon cutting with the Mountain Grove Area Chamber of Commerce was held on Monday, Oct. 18.
