Judy Marie O’guin

Judy Marie “O’Guin, daughter of the late Louis Fred and Willie (Williams) Franke, was born March 1, 1946, in Dyersburg, Tenn., and passed away May 13, 2020, at Cox Health in Springfield. She was 74 years, 2 months and 12 days of age. Judy married Floyd O’Guin on Oct. 6, 1961. Four children were born to this union. They raised their children and made their home south of Norwood for over 40 years. Floyd passed away Sep. 1, 2008. Over the years, Judy worked at several places including General Fibre, Louis Frank Septic Services, Brown Shoe Company and Juvenile Detention. She also ran the Apple Shed with her husband. Judy received her GED in 2005. She enjoyed teasing her grandson, Kaleb, that she graduated before he did. She got her driver’s license the same day as her son, Paul. Judy and her husband attended church at Oak Forest when they accepted Jesus as their Savior. They ministered together at Peace Valley, and then at Pleasant Hill for over 20 years. Judy enjoyed playing Spades and board games and cooking for her family. She especially loved her grandbabies and the time she spent with them. Besides her parents and her husband, Judy was preceded in death by one son, Paul O’Guin; two brothers; and by three sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Paula Allsman, of Norwood; Patricia “Lucky” O’Guin, of Mountain Grove; and Rose Woods, of Norwood; one sister, Lois Johnson, of St. Louis; 21 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends who will dearly miss her. Visitation for Judy O’Guin was held Sunday, May 17, 2020, from 2-4 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Monday, May 18, 2020, at 10 a.m., also at the funeral home, with the Rev. Rick Schroeder officiating. Song selections were “Lead Me Home” and “Sissy’s Song.” Vocal selection was “What I Leave Behind” sung by Rick Schroeder. Kaleb O’Guin, Matthew O’Guin, Kurtis O’Guin, Austin O’Guin, Justin Gonzales and Dwayne Allsman II served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Karson O’Guin and Landon Luckey. Burial was in Oak Forest Cemetery, Norwood, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
