Elva Sue “Susie” Webb

Elva Sue “Susie” Webb, daughter of the late Harold Henry and Sylvia Marie (McConell) Smith, was born July 25, 1958, in Cabool, and passed away May 7, 2020, at her home in Mountain Grove. She was 61 years, 9 months and 13 days of age. Susie accepted Jesus at an early age and was baptized into the Greenwood Church of the Brethren. At the time of her passing, she had been a long time member of First Baptist Church of Mountain Grove. Susie graduated from Cabool High School with the Class of 1976. She married John Webb on May 30, 1982, in Cabool. Three children were born to this union. Susie was a dedicated employee of Walmart in Mountain Grove and was recently recognized for over 25 years of service. She was an active supporter of the local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops, a member of the Band Boosters for 10 years and a member of the Historical Society of Cabool. Susie also enjoyed genealogy, traveling, sight-seeing, reading and enjoying her grandchildren.

Besides her parents, Susie was preceded in death by one brother, Robert Smith.She is survived by her husband of their home, John Webb; two daughters, Johnna Webb, of Springfield, and Janelle Wood and her husband, Walter, of Lebanon; one son, Jordan Webb and fiancé, Amanda Angel, of Mountain Grove; one brother, Clifford Smith, of Villa Ridge; two grandchildren, Asher and Madelyn Wood; and other relatives and friends who will miss her. Funeral services for Susie Webb were held Tuesday, May 12, 2020, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Mountain Grove with the Rev. Gene Edwards officiating.  Song selections were “To Where You Are,” “How Great Thou Art,” “Amazing Grace, My Chains Are Gone” and “It Is Well With My Soul.” Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.  Memorial contributions may be made to Children’s Miracle Network or American Heart Association in care of the funeral home.
