Pirates undefeated at 5-0 after 12-1 victory

Norwood’s baseball team has opened its season with an undefeated record of 5-0 after adding a 12-1 victory over Greenwood last week.
Caden Black had the big hit with an inside-the-park home, two-run home run in a four-run top of the third inning.
Wyatt Bolfing had a big day with three RBIs and two runs scored; Laken Coatney and Holten Lopez had two RBIs and two runs scored; Black had two RBIs and one run scored; Drae Bradshaw had on run scored; Pierce Lawson scored three runs; and Carder Kelly scored one run.
One the mound, Lopez tossed five shutout innings and gave up one hit with eight strikeouts and four walks.
Carson Vaughan tossed a scoreless, no-hit inning and had one strikeout one walk.
