Norwood track has solid pair of meets

Norwood’s boys and girls track and field team competed in Rogersville and Ava last week.
Rogersville
The Lady Pirates were sixth place overall in the team standings in the Cindy Thompson-Grassi Relays event held at Logan-Rogersville.
Jayden Chambers led the squad by winning the 1,600 meters race with a time of 6:07.72 and taking second in the 300-meter hurdles (52.34).
Kalie Chadwell was second in the long jump with a leap of 4.86 meters. She was also fifth in the 400 (1:06.60).
Sadie Kelly placed sixth in the 800 (2:57.07).
Caleb Barker did not place, but ran in the 800 (2:44.94) and 1,600 (6:03.45).
Ava
Chadwell had a big day for the Lady Pirates as she won the 200 meters with a time of 28.04 seconds. She was also first in the long jump (4.7 meters). Chambers won the 1,600 meters with a time of 6:02.38 and placed second in the 400 meters with a time of 1:08.06. The 4x200-meter relay team of Chambers, Chadwell Bennett and Kelly placed second with a time of 2:05.53.
