Lady Pirates bring home a few All-State track medals

The Norwood Lady Pirates’ track and field program earned All-State medals in three different events in the Class 1 State Championships held Friday-Saturday, May 22-23 in Jefferson City.
Leading the way was Jayden Chambers, who earned a top-three finish in the 1,600 meters as she had a third place time of 5:22.88.
Both relay teams also earned All-State medals.
The 4x800-meter relay team of Jaycee Hall, Sadie Kelly, Kalie Chadwell and Chambers finished sixth place overall with a time of 10:28.32 for All-State honors.
The 4x400-meter relay team of the same runners were in fifth place in the preliminaries with a time of 4:18.
In the finals, they earned All-State honors by placing eighth with a time of 4:23.30.
As a team, Norwood’s 10 points gave them a 26th place finish in Class 1.
