Proposition A asks voters to put 2025 districting map into place
Proposition A is known as the Congressional Redistricting Referendum and voters will be asked to vote for or against it on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 3.
A “Yes” vote would repeal Missouri’s existing congressional plan and replace it with new congressional boundaries that reportedly keep more counties in tact.
In essence, the new map in 2025 broke Kansas City into three pieces.
The result, it moved the 6-2 Republican margin to a new 7-1 Republican margin. Voters are now being asked to officially vote for the 2025 map or turn it down.
Some speaking against the measure do so as they think it keeps the door open for redistricting to happen again in the future.
Those against the measure say by breaking Kansas City into pieces also breaks up proper representation for the residents of that area.
The Missouri Republican Party encourages a “Yes” vote on Proposition A.
The Missouri Democrat Party is seeking a “No” vote on Proposition A.
