Jonathan Fashbaugh, a Mansfield resident and author, has released a new book titled “The TMJ Trifecta: Solving Your Pain Puzzle,” now available on Amazon for Kindle along with paperback and hardcover.
Co-authored with nationally recognized dentist Dr. Mac Lee, the nonfiction health and self-help book offers a lifeline to the millions of Americans who suffer from chronic pain due to TMJ disorder, a condition affecting the jaw joint and surrounding muscles. Drawing from Dr. Lee’s personal and professional experience, “The TMJ Trifecta” guides readers through symptoms, causes and effective treatment options for this often misunderstood condition.
“Dr. Lee has been a dentist for over 50 years,” Fashbaugh said. “I saw that there was an opportunity to work together to share his expertise with the world, so I asked him about writing a sort of manual for TMJ treatment.”
Fashbaugh, who owns a dental marketing agency, brings both storytelling and technical skill to the project. Dr. Lee, based in Texas, contributes decades of expertise in general, cosmetic dentistry and TMJ treatment.
“So many people continue to suffer even after they receive treatment for TMJ disorder because they haven’t addressed the full trifecta of factors that contribute to TMD,” Dr. Lee said. “Jonathan was the one who suggested that we title the book, ‘The TMJ Trifecta,’ I guess because that’s what it’s all about. You have to treat the full trifecta if you want to get relief.”
“The TMJ Trifecta: Solving Your Pain Puzzle” is already receiving praise from dental professionals and patients alike. It’s intended for anyone suffering from chronic jaw pain, headaches, or bite-related symptoms and for those who feel they’ve run out of answers. Purchase Link: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0F2GQ4NH1
More about the Fashbaugh family and their arrival to Mansfield
Jonathan Fashbaugh is the father of eight boys with his wife, Amanda, as the couple celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary last December.
Four of their kids attend Mansfield schools and three are homeschooled. The couple’s oldest son, Caleb Fashbaugh, is a member of the Army National Guard.
The couple moved to Mansfield during the pandemic from Colorado. With the goal of possibly doing some homesteading, research included Youtube videos. At the same time, Amanda was reading the Laura Ingalls Wilder book, “Farmer Boy,” to her family.
With some of the videos they watched on Youtube featuring Mansfield area residents, the town came on their radar. During their first visit, the family stopped on the Mansfield square and saw the bust of Laura Ingalls Wilder.
“We had no idea that we were moving to the town that was the birthplace of the Little House books and the burial place of the author who kindled the dream we were following. It was a God thing for sure.,” Fashbaugh noted.
Professionally, Fashbaugh has been in marketing for 25 years, with 15 years as the owner of a marketing agency he founded.
“I’ve worked with dentists almost that entire time, many of which focus their practices on TMJ and sleep apnea and snoring treatment,” he said. “During this time as a marketer, I’ve been constantly writing. I’ve written articles for multiple industry journals. This summer and fall, I have two articles coming out in a dental magazine called “Dental Economics.’”
As for his latest work with Dr. Lee, Fashbaugh reconnected with the dentist he met in the past, a couple of years ago at a dental conference in Portland, Ore. “I had read his booklet, ‘The Life-Robbing Pain of TMJ,’ and asked him if he had ever considered writing a more comprehensive book about TMD,” Fashbaugh said. “He said that he had, but that he wasn’t really a writer. I said, ‘Well, I am! How about we work together on it?’
