Election Results for Aug. 6 primary (Final)

Final story:
The unofficial election results were  all in for races both locally and statewide after votes were tallied on Tuesday, Aug. 6.
With all 33 precincts reporting, Melissa Schmidt won the State Representative District 141 Republican primary. She had 4,128 votes. Zach Williams was second with 3,745 votes and John S. Perperian had 627 votes.
When looking at that race a little closer, Williams won the Wright County portion with 2,185 votes to Schmidt’s 1,267 votes. Perperian was at 221 votes.
In Laclede County, Schmidt won there with 2,609 votes. Williams had 1,083 votes and Perperian tallied 363 votes.
As for Douglas County, Williams won with 466 votes, Schmidt had 230 and Perperian had 40 votes.
In Webster County, Schmidt had 22 votes, Williams had 11 and Perperian finished with three votes.
Bennie Cook won the State Representative District 143 Republican primary with 5,706 votes to 1,667 votes for Philip Lohmann.
Wright County
Locally in Wright County, several contested races were decided.
In the Eastern Commissioner race, incumbent Randy Pamperien defeated Cathern Long, 1,120-599.
Tommy Kingery beat Lucas Snodgrass, 1,185-662, in the Western Commissioner race.
In the race for sheriff, incumbent Sonny Byerley had 2,319 votes to Bobby Willhite’s 1,319 to win the primary.
Roscoe “Rocky” Griffin won the Brush Creek Township Committeeman race, 74-46, over Josh Friend. Karen Griffin won Committeewoman there, 73-46, over Rachel Friend.
As for Mountain Grove Township Committeeman, John Kelly won, 597-280, over Jim Dake. Shawn (Williams) Irby won, 595-254, over Wanda Nava for Committeewoman there.
In Hart Township, Tyler Williams won the Committeeman vote, 168-58, over Jeffrey Bettendorf. As for Committeewoman, Jadyn Williams defeated Helen Sanders, 119-108.
Nathan Culver had 186 votes and John Jacobs just 71 in the Gasconade Township Committeeman race.
In Pleasant Valley Township, John G. Moody won the Committeeman race, 376-82, over Paul Vliestra. Kati Roberts beat Donna Frantz, 310-141, for Committeewoman there.
Adrienne Dudley had 154 votes to Susan Hotalling’s 42 in the Boone Township Committeewoman race.
As for Van Buren Township, John Calus II beat Daniel Friend, 65-52, in the Committeeman race. Jodi Calus beat Connie Friend, 65-52, in the Committeewoman race.
Bill Dobbs beat Charles Knight, 76-34, in the Montgomery Township Committeeman race. Amily Dobbs beat Patti Knight, 66-48, in the Committeewoman race.
As for Union Township Committeewoman, Harriett Boggs beats Mary “Lynn” Whitehead, 124-115.
Texas County
In Texas County, a couple of primaries were decided on Election Day.
In Commission District 1, John Casey (1,297) had more votes than Mark Forbes (873).
As for Texas County Sheriff, incumbent Scott Lindsey had 3,498 votes. Jordan Goodwin was second (439) and Rex Churchill was third (289).
Douglas County
In the Commissioner District 1 race, Travis Cheyney won with 1,270 votes, defeating Dwayne E. Nash (573).
As for Commissioner District 2, Johnny Burkdoll Jr won a nail biter with Brad Loveless, 999-902.
In the Republican Primary for Sheriff, Chris Degase defeated Trampus Taylor, 2,835-1,068.
In Benton Township, Dennis Uhles won the Committeeman race, 524-301, over Richard Salgado. Barbara Uhles won the Committeewoman race, 508-310, over Marcia Salgado.
In Boone Township Committeeman’s race, David Kautz had 69 votes and Jack Charchol had 62.
Webster County
There were just two competitive races in Fordland. James R. “Bob” Fleming beat Jonas Moffett for Committeeman, 382-106. As for Committeewoman, Kay Fleming beat Bailey Moffett, 334-151.
Laclede County

Laclede County voters chose Matt Frederick for sheriff and Erik Lindsey for eastern district commissioner in the Republican primary election Tuesday.
Julie Rayl-Gilstrap also retained her seat as assessor in the primary.
The winners will appear on the November general election ballot with no Democratic opposition since no Democratic candidates filed.
Matt Frederick won convincingly in the sheriff’s race, defeating Gregory Mattes  with more than 70% of the vote,  4,921-1,744.
Erik Lindsey came out on top in the crowded race for eastern district county commissioner. Lindsey received 30 percent of the total ballots cast, 1,108 votes, in a five-way race.  Other candidate vote totals were Adam Fries with 767, David Miller with 201, David Layman with 724 and Laina Starnes with 823.
Assessor Julie Rayl-Gilstrap fended off a challenge from Brett Burroughs. She received more than 70% of the vote, 4,756-1,789.
Andrew Hardwick won the Republican primary for Circuit Judge, Circuit 26, Division 1. Final results were-Andrew Hardwick 11,812; Charlie Dickman 2,923; Stacy L. Patterson 3,322; Nick Mebruer 6,531
Statewide Results
With all 3,566 precincts in, a lot of races were decided, setting up November match-ups against opponents from other parties.
In the Democratic Primary for the U.S. Senate seat held by Josh Hawley, Lucas Kunce won with 255,309 votes. Sen. Hawley garnered 606,831 uncontested votes.
Governor
Mike Kehoe won the Republican primary with 274,840 votes. Bill Eigel (227,012) and Jay Ashcroft (162,086) round out the top three.
Crystal Quade won the Democratic primary with 189,822 votes. Mike Harris is second (119,702).
Lt. Gov.
Dave Wasinger won the Republican primary with 206,875 votes. Lincoln Hough was second (199,423) and Holly Rehder was third (142,801).
Richard Brown won for Democrats with 2031,970 votes.
Secretary of State
Denny Hoskins won the Republican primary with 157,116 votes. Shane Schoeller was second (108,289).
Barbara Phifer won the Democratic primary with 146,284 votes. Monique Williams came in second (123,270).
State Treasurer
Incumbent Vivek Malek won with 273,691 votes. Second was Andrew Koenig with 135,637 votes. Lori Rook was third (127,807) and Cody Smith is fourth (96,892).
Attorney General
As for Attorney General, incumbent Andrew Bailey won with 413,465 votes. Will Scharf is second (242,680).
Amendments
As for the Amendments, Amendment No. 1 had 588,830 No votes and 487,334 Yes votes. Amendment No. 4 showed the Yes votes at 545,684 to No votes tallying 520,535.

As of 10:51 p.m., here is an update on the statewide races. These totals are with 2,663 of 3,566 precincts reporting.

In the Democratic Primary for the U.S. Senate seat held by Josh Hawley, Lucas Kunce will win as he has 230,960 votes. Karla May is second (92,568). Hawley has 448,467 votes in his unopposed race.

Governor
Mike Kehoe is leading in the Republican primary with 255,468 votes. Bill Eigel (202,004) and Jay Ashcroft (151,286) round out the top three.

Crystal Quade has the early Democratic primary lead with 172,453 votes. Mike Harris is second (107,972).

Lt. Gov.
Tight race for Republicans early with Lincoln Hough at 188,013, Dave Wasinger at 183,606 and Holly Rehder at 132,590.

Richard Brown leads for the Democrats at 209,722. Anastasia Syes is at 113,656.

Secretary of State
Denny Hoskins leads early for the Republicans with 142,621 votes. Shane Schoeller is second (103,639).

Barbara Phifer leads the Democrats with 132,671 votes and Monique Williams is in second (111,334).

State Treasurer
Incumbent Vivek Malek leads big with 254,289 votes. Second is Andrew Koenig with 118,369 votes. Lori Rook is third (117,625) and.Cody Smith is fourth (91,508).

As we await local election results, here are some preliminary statewide results to look at with quite a few precincts reporting as of 9:24 p.m.

Governor
With just 750 of 3,566 precincts reporting, Mike Kehoe is leading in the Republican primary with 104,034 votes. Bill Eigel (77,378) and Jay Ashcroft (57,896) round out the top three.

Crystal Quade has the early Democratic primary lead with 50,675 votes. Mike Harris is second (35,512).

Lt. Gov.
Tight race for Republicans early with Lincoln Hough at 78,457, Dave Wasinger at 69,547 and Holly Rehder at 48,893.

Richard Brown leads for the Democrats at 63,976. Anastasia Syes is at 34,916.

Secretary of State
Denny Hoskins leads early for the Republicans with 56,062 votes. Shane Schoeller is second (38,663).

Barbara Phifer leads the Democrats with 39,765votes and Monique Williams is in second (33,879).

State Treasurer
Incumbent Vivek Malek leads big with 100,918 votes. Second is Lori Rook at 45,925, Andrew Koenig is third (44,232) and Cody Smithy is fourth (34,056).

As for Attorney General, incumbent Andrew Bailey leads with 150,780 votes. Will Scharf is second (83,427).

 

With 14 of 33 precincts reporting in the hotly contested State Representative District 141 Republican primary:
Melissa Schmidt with an early lead at 2,609 votes. Zach Williams is second (1,083 votes) and John S. Perperian is third (363 votes).

 

At 8:57 p.m., the Texas County election primary results are in for Tuesday, Aug. 6.
There were 4,401 Republican filled ballots, 483 for Democrats, 50 non-partisan and 16 Libertarian ballots.

Bennie Cook won Texas County in the State Representative District 143 race with 3,523 votes to Phillip Lohmann’s 706.

In Commission District 1, John Casey (1,297) had more votes than Mark Forbes (873).

As for Texas County Sheriff’s, incumbent Scott Lindsey had 3,498 votes. Jordan Goodwin was second (439) and Rex Churchill was third (289).

In the U.S. State Representative District 8 Democratic Primary race, Randi McCallian won the county with 337 votes to 113 from Franklin Delano Roth II.

As for the two amendments, the “No’s” won in the county for Amendment 1, 2,836-1,870.
The No’s also won for Amendment 4, 2,785-1,872.
