Dean Butler (Almanzo) to appear at next month’s Wilder Day

The Wilder Day committee met on July 29 to continue the planning of Wilder Day 2024, which is to be held Sep. 27-28 on the Mansfield city square and the grounds of Rocky Ridge Farm. 
The Wilder Day Committee is excited to announce that Dean Butler, who played Almanzo Wilder on the “Little House on the Prairie” television show, will be the guest for Wilder Day 2024. Special appearances will be announced as the events are planned.
The Wilder Day Festival begins on  Friday, Sep. 27 at noon with booths being set up on the square. Entertainment will begin at 4 p.m. A Street Dance is planned for Friday night beginning at 7 p.m. on the west side of the square with the “Abels Band” performing. 
On Saturday, Sep. 28, entertainment will be held on the grounds of the Wilder Home beginning at 9 a.m. with “Pa’s Fiddle” being played. There will be additional information about events, games, Morgan horses and other activities released as plans are confirmed.
The Little Laura and Farmer Boy contest will be held on the square beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sep. 28. Application forms will be available to pick up at the Weaver Inn and will be available at our Wilder Days email and website, Wilderdays01@gmail.com or Wilderdays.org.  
The Parade line-up is Saturday, Sep. 28 at 12 p.m. at the school parking lot. Parade begins at 1 p.m. A Quilt Show will also be held this year.
