Mansfield Lions beat rival Hartville

In the battle last week with a then rival Hartville Eagles squad, the Mansfield Lions picked up a 3-2 win to open Summit Conference play at 1-0.
Mansfield held a 3-0 lead through six innings before Hartville scored two runs in their final at-bat.
Gus Sinning hit a two-RBI single with no outs. Brayden Stuart responded with two straight strikeouts before getting Maddox Jones to ground out to end the game.
Braden Tate led the Lions with one RBI while both Bryston Kingery and Charlie Grubbs scored one run.
Grubbs was dominant on the mound, tossing six scoreless innings and give up four hits with nine strikeouts and three walks. Stuart tossed one inning and allowed two earned runs on three hits with two strikeouts.
Gus Sinning led the Eagles with two RBIs while both Gavin Stigall and Brodyn Hulsey scored one run. Sinning picked up the loss after tossing five innings and allowing one earned run on six hits with 11 strikeouts and two walks. Hulsey tossed one inning and gave up one earned run on one hit with one strikeout and one walk.
In a match-up with Lighthouse Christian, the Lions fell, 6-3.
Fisher Croney led the Lions with one RBI and one run scored; Kingery had one RBI; while Tate scored one run.
Aiden Garrison tossed three and a third innings allowing one earned run on five hits with three strikeouts.
Croney tossed two innings and gave up two earned runs on three hits with one strikeout and four walks.
Stuart tossed one and two-third scoreless innings and gave up one hit.
