Lady Eagles pick up three Summit wins

The Hartville Lady Eagles’ softball team now sits at 10-2 this spring after winning three of their four Summit Conference contests.
In those three wins, they outscored their opponents by a 40-3 margin.
One big win came over rival Mansfield as a seven-run second inning and a five-run fourth was too much for the Lady Lions to overcome.
Haddie Ward led Hartville with two RBIs and one run scored; Brielle Kline and Sarah Palmer had one RBI and scored twice; Danica Flachsmann and Peyton Dudley had one RBI and one run scored; while Maddie Brown scored twice.
Saige Petty tossed five innings and gave up one earned run on four hits with two strikeouts.
Mansfield’s Addie Jones had her team’s lone RBI while Kayley Kingery scored one run.
Addie Jones tossed four innings and gave up seven earned runs on seven hits with five strikeouts and 10 walks.
One day earlier, the Lady Eagles’ 11-hit attack lifted them to a 12-2 win over Gainesville.
Palmer hit a two-run home run and Kline added a two-RBI triple for the big hits in the win.
Kline had three RBIs and two runs scored; Gensen Culver had two RBIs and one run scored; McKenzi Stigall and Brown had one RBI and scored twice; Ward and Flachsmann had one RBI and one run scored; and Dudley scored twice.
Petty tossed five innings and gave up one earned run on six hits with two strikeouts.
Hartville also had a 15-0 win over Fordland after scoring eight runs in the second and taking advantage of six defensive errors.
Kline did hit a two-run home run in the win as she finished with two RBIs and two runs scored.
Flachsmann led the offense with five RBIs; Stigall had a big day with three RBIs and three runs scored; Palmer had two RBIs and three runs scored; Brown had one RBI and scored twice; and Dudley had one RBI and one run scored.
Petty tossed three scoreless innings and gave up one hit with one strikeout.
