Lady Eagles briefly extended win streak to three
Before dropping their final two games last week, the Hartville Lady Eagles’ softball team extended their winning streak to three games with a 5-2 win over Dixon.
The Lady Eagles scored two runs in their final at-bat to seal the victory.
Peyton Dudley led Hartville with three hits, two RBIs and scored twice; McKenzi Stigall had three hits, one RBI and scored twice; Sarah Palmer had two RBIs; and Dani Flachsmann scored one run.
Saige Petty tossed seven innings on the mound and gave up one earned run on four hits with eight strikeouts.
In a match-up with Dadeville, who teams with Everton for the fall season, a six-run fifth inning doomed the Lady Eagles in a tough 11-8 loss.
Palmer hit a two-run home run as she finished with three hits, two RBIs and two runs scored.
Hartville’s Peyton Dudley had one RBI and two runs scored; Maddie Brown had one RBI and one run scored; Haddie Ward and Flachsmann each had one RBI; while Brielle Kline, Stigall and Petty each scored one run.
Petty tossed four and two-thirds innings and gave up five earned runs on 11 hits with two strikeouts and one walk. Palmer tossed two and a third scoreless innings and gave up no hits with five strikeouts and one walk.
