Lady Eagles’ softball gets two wins in tough stretch
The Hartville Lady Eagles’ softball team opened their season with a 2-3 overall record.
They won just one of four contests in the 31st Annual Morrisville Tournament.
Hartville’s lone win was an 11-2 victory over Sherwood.
Haddie Ward had two RBIs and scored twice; both Dani Flachsmann and Gensen Culver had two RBIs; Peyton Dudley had two RBIs and one run scored; while Brielle Kline scored three times.
Saige Petty tossed five shutout innings and gave up four hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
Hartville lost 9-1 to Cassville, 7-2 to Waynesville and 4-3 to Wheatland.
Petty gave up just three earned runs on six hits with four strikeouts and three walks in the loss to Waynesville.
Dudley scored two runs in the loss to Wheatland. Petty tossed three earned runs on seven hits with three strikeouts and one walk in six innings.
Last week, the Lady Eagles traveled to Aurora and left with a 3-2 win.
Sarah Palmer had two RBIs and Flachsmann had one RBI. McKenzi Stigall, Ward and Dudley each scored one run.
Petty gave up no earned runs on seven innings on five hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
