Hartville track sends four athletes to Class 1 state championships
The 4x400-meter relay team qualified for this week’s Class 2 state championships after a fourth place finish. Runners include Carlin Cantril, Kinley Cryer, Jayla Ferguson and Kenzi Stgiall.
One relay team and one individual for the Hartville Lady Eagles’ track and field team qualified for this week’s Class 2 state championships after earning a top four finish in the Class 2, Sectional 3 meet held in Mountain Grove.
The 4x400-meter relay team of Carlyn Cantrell, Kinley Cryer, Kenzi Stigall and Jayla Ferguson qualified after placing fourth with a time of 4:35.43.
Cryer also advanced to state in the 800 meters after she placed third with a time of 2:33.04.
Also earning team points was Stigall in the 400 (1:03.75) as she was fifth and she was eighth in the 200 *(30.30).
Ferguson was sixth in the 100 meters with a time of 14.12 seconds.
The 4x200-meter relay team finished sixth in sectionals with their time of 1:55.05.
Their finish helped the Lady Eagles finish 14th in the team standings with 22 points. The Class 2 State Championships will be held May 23-24 in Jefferson City.
