Hartville swimmers shine at SWMO event

Sofia Moncada-Harris and Kennedy Raney earned a medal with the 200 medley relay team in the Southwest Missouri Championships.
Two Hartville swimmers earned Southwest Missouri Championships medals after helping their relay team place at the recent event. Kennedy Raney and Sofia Moncada-Harris were part off a 200 medley relay team that earned a sixth place medal. The two just missed out getting another medal when the 200 freestyle relay team finished seventh.
Individually, Moncada-Harris also picked up a fifth place medal in the 100 breaststroke.
Raney was 12th place in her 200 IM race.
Also at the event, Moncada-Harris was recognized as a senior along with fellow Marshfield teammates Elizabeth Jenkins and Katelin Lawrence.
Earlier in the month, the two competed in the Springfield Invitational.
Moncada-Harris placed seventh overall with a new season best time of 1:13.55 in the 100 breaststroke.
Raney broke her previous school records in the 200 IM (2:32.91) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.78).
In relays, the 200 freestyle relay was 10th place overall after dropping four seconds.
