Hartville softball season ends in district semis
The Hartville Lady Eagles’ softball team’s season came to an end in the semifinals of the Class 2, District 4 Tournament on their home field.
There they ran into eventual district champion Holden and fell, 8-1.
Gensen Culver had the lone RBI while Sarah Palmer scored the only run.
On the mound, Saige Petty tossed six innings and gave up four earned runs on 12 hits with one strikeout and one walk.
Hartville did win their first round game against Dixon, 5-3.
Brielle Kline led the way with three hits, one RBI and two runs scored.
McKenzi Stigall had one RBI and scored twice; both Petty and Palmer had one RBI; while Dani Flachsmann scored one run.
Petty tossed seven innings for the Lady Eagles and gave up one earned run on seven hits with three strikeouts.
Hartville finished their season with a 12-12 record.
