Hartville golf hopes to repeat as Summit champs, already has medalist

Hartville golfer Jace Hughes was the medalist in the Reeds Spring Invitational after shooting a 78.

With four returning players with tournament experience from the defending Summit Conference champion squad, the Hartville Eagles’ golf team has high expectations that the 2025 campaign will be another special one. Key returners are led by Jace Hughes, who earned All-State and All-District honors in Class 1 last spring. Juniors Jesse Hughes and Jesse Vestal and sophomore Kennedy Raney are also returning for the Eagles.
Five other golfers round out the nine player squad. The list includes sophomores Carson Ragland, Brent Mount, Jacob Melton and Ike Meyers along with freshman Cooper Hughes.
“We were Summit Conference Champs in 2024 and of course will work hard to keep that title this year,” said Hartville head coach Emily McDaris.
