Hartville Eagles’ golfers earn All-State honors

The Hartville Eagles’ golf team had two golfers earn All-State honors among a field of 91 total golfers during the Class 1 state championships held at Twin Hills Golf & Country Club held May 13-14.
Senior Archer McDaris led Hartville by shooting an 81 in round one and added a 78 in round two for a two-day total of 159. That score was good enough to tie him for eighth place in Class 1, which was good for first-team honors.
His teammate, Jace Hughes, shot an 81 in both rounds for a 162, giving him All-State honors as he finished in the three-way tie for 12th place overall.
“Both boys really dug deep for this tournament,” said Hartville head coach Emily McDaris. “The first day was delayed three times because of rain. When they were finally able to play, they played through several rain showers and large amounts of water on the course.”
