Hartville cruises past state-ranked Chadwick

In a match-up between state-ranked teams from both Class 2 and Class 1, the Hartville Eagles’ came out on top after making 12, 3-pointers to defeat the Chadwick Cardinals, 61-49.
Hartville jumped out to a 19-9 first quarter lead during in Chadwick after Harmon Johns made a pair of 3-pointers and scored eight points.
Boone Garrison also made two, 3-pointers for six points while Mason Cogdill scored five points.
In the second quarter, Johns scored five more points during Hartville’s 16-8 run for a 35-17 halftime edge.
Garrison made three, 3-pointers in the third quarter and Johns added his fourth in the game to put the Eagles up 21 heading into the fourth.
Chadwick responded with a 19-point final frame, but were unable to complete a comeback in the 14-point loss.
Garrison made four, 3-pointers and finished with a team-high 19 points; Johns added four, 3-pointers and 18 points; Mason Cogdill scored 13; Payton Cogdill had five points; Gus Sinning scored four points; and Jackson Ward had two points for the Eagles.
