The Wright County Journal received four awards during last week’s Missouri Press Advertising and Marketing Executives (MPAME) Award Banquet held in Springfield.

In one of the most prestigious categories, the newspaper won third place for “Best Ad Content Entire Publication” when competing among weeklies in the same circulation size.

Judges said, “The variety of design styles in the ads stands out in this entry. The use of color pops and the emphasis on ad photos that are clear and clean elevates the entry,”

The Wright County Journal also received third place for “Best Classified Section.”

In having to compete against their circulation size and the largest, the newspaper took third place for “Best Print Advertising Campaign.” This was for their Jim’s Automotive ads.

Judges said, “Very informative ads. I like the slogan on each of ‘I’ve got a guy.’”

In competing against small dailies and large weeklies, a “Salute to Veterans” sales tool  was also a third place winner.

“To God be the glory,” said owner/ad designer Ron Schott.
