Wright County Farm Bureau leaders attend MFB annual meeting

Missouri Farm Bureau members returned to their traditional annual meeting Dec. 5-7, 2021, at the Lake of the Ozarks. The organization’s 107th meeting theme, Planted With Purpose, focused on the importance of county Farm Bureau leaders and the development of Farm Bureau policies for 2022.

During the convention, Farm Bureau counties were recognized for their advocacy and service to members. County delegates also approved legislative policy, re-elected Marion County farmer Todd Hays as vice president and elected Linn County member Dana Lane as North Director at Large. Four other board members; including Stan Coday representing District 8, were re-elected.

A highlight for Wright County was being honored with the President’s Award, the top award for county activities given by MOFB. “For Chris Daily and the leaders of Wright County Farm Bureau, it is all about service,” Hawkins said. “Whether for the member or the community, they have done a terrific job this past year.” Earlier in the program, top counties were honored for special projects, Wright County received the top Special Project award in its membership category. The county was similarly recognized with its membership activities during a County Presidents Gold Star Awards program, Daily received a plaque from MOFB Board member Stan Coday. Finally, Hala Edquist, of Mountain Grove, competed in the MOFB Ambassador Contest during the meeting. She is the daughter of Eric and Cheryl Edquist and a sophomore at Crowder College.
