Wilma Louise Turner

Wilma Louise Turner, 80, of Mountain Grove, was born on Nov. 1, 1939, the eldest of six children born to Murve and Velma (Snyder) Crewse. She took her heavenly journey on Oct. 13, 2020 after a brief illness and broken heart after the loss of her lifelong friend/husband, Rev. Ronnie Turner. Wilma was born and grew up in the Number One area. She attended Mountain Grove High School and graduated with the Class of 1957. Wilma was united in marriage to Ronald Lewis Turner on Oct. 10, 1958 and this union was blessed with three children, James, Jerry and Carolyn Sue “Susie.” They had a beautiful love that radiated and showed others what true long lasting love is. She was a homemaker until the children were older and she then worked at the Brown Shoe Company for several years. Wilma was saved at a young age and served the Lord all of her days. She enjoyed singing and playing the piano, she loved raising flowers and gardening, but most of all, she loved her family.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Ronnie; her daughter, Susie and son-in-law, Danny Nungesser; grandson, Jeremy Murve Turner; and three great grandchildren, Shane (Boyo) Turner, Joshua Turner and Trinity Martin. She is survived by her sons, Jimmy Turner, and Jerry Turner and wife, Kathryn, of Mountain Grove; sisters, Fern Dugger, of Mountain Grove, and Faye Roderick, of Rogersville; brothers, Delbert and Dwayne Crewse, of Mountain Grove, and Gene Crewse, of Fordland; 23 grandkids; 35 great-grandkids; and four great-great-grandkids; two brothers-in-law; and many nephews and nieces as well as a host of friends. She will be truly missed by all who new and loved her. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 17, 2020 at the Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church with Gene Crewse officiating. Pallbearers were David Nungesser, Michael Turner, Andrew Turner, Jesse Turner, Timmy Turner, Stephen Turner, Billy Turner and Tommy Martin.  Interment was in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Mountain Grove under the direction of Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home of Cabool.
