Wilma Jean Prewett, daughter of the late Lee Howard Hart and Myrtle Thelma (Robson) Hart was born May 10, 1933, near Hartville. She departed this life Feb. 2, 2022, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 24 days. She was preceded in death by her father and mother; daughter, Nita Jane Lookhoff; brothers, Leonard Howard Hart, of Mansfield ,and Dale Lee Hart, of Hartville. She is survived by sons, Danny L. Lawler and wife, Carla, of Strafford; and Russell G Lawler, of Springfield; grandchildren, Laura Pfister and husband, Tim, of Strafford; Kurtis Lawler, of Springfield; Tia Blystone and husband, Nicholas, of Slidell, La.; Steven Lookhoff, of Fredericksburg, Va.; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Jonathan and Kyle Pfister, all of Battle Ground, Wash.; Krystal and Harley Blystone, of Slidell, La.; and Airabella Lookhoff, of Fredericksburg, Va.

She was born and raised on the family farm north of Hartville. After many years of living in Missouri, she moved to New Orleans, La. She enjoyed New Orleans jazz music, her cats and the love of shopping at garage sales and thrift stores. She was always proud of how she dressed and the complements she received knowing most all of her clothes were “bargains.” She lived in New Orleans until after the death of her father when she moved back to Hartville. While in Hartville, she was able to work at her dream job, working in the thrift store that her brother Leonard and his wife Nadine owned. After Hartville, she moved to an assisted living facility in Springfield and later a nursing care facility in Mansfield. There will be no memorial service at this time. A small memorial will be held at a later date, after which her ashes will be spread.
