On Saturday, July 11, Dr. Logan Williams, of Williams Veterinary Service and his staff, hosted the 2nd Annual Best Dressed Pet Contest for their Dawg Daze of Summer event. Canines from Mountain Grove, Cabool, Licking, Seymour and other local areas participated for prizes under the extreme Ozark heat in several contests. Sprinklers and pools were setup to help the canines and their owners enjoy the day. Victorious in the Best Dressed Category were as follows:

First place-Chico, a 7-8-year-old male Rat Terrier mix from Cabool who was outfitted as a football player as his owner is a football coach in Willow Springs.

Second place-Dolly, an 8-month old French Bulldog from Licking

Third place-Ruby, a 6-month-old Yorkie from Seymour who was sporting a diaper. All winners received gift bags containing many canine toys and treats.

Later in the day, a race was held. Winners for that event were as follows:

First place-Sadie, a 4 1/2-year-old Australia Shepherd/Border Collie mix

Second place-Maggie, a 4-year-old Australia Shepherd was shown by Wyatt (No last name provided)

Third place-Zoey, a 1-year-old female Pitbull from Mountain Grove

Following this event, the contestants enjoyed a dip in the pools provided.

It was a great day for everyone as Dr. Williams and his staff provided a free lunch to all, and The Barking Bridge Project, a nonprofit represented by Debby Lemon, offered many goodies to the participants. Look forward to this annual event.
