Posted

Wedgewood hosted their first 2020 tournament Saturday and Sunday, July 25-26. Thank you to all that braved the heat and competed in the annual Cat and Dog Tournament.

Congratulations to the championship winners Doug and Kristi Landsdown, both of West Plains, with a score of 64. Championship second place went to Derrick Shelton, of Houston, and Barbara Tate, of Cabool, while third place featured Randy Emery, of Mountain Grove, and Jody Jarrett, of Cabool.

A-Flight winners were Jim Moore, of Houston, and Jody Jarrett, of Cabool. Those taking second place were Lee and Jackie Smith, of Houston while third place winners were Jim Taylor and Michele Myers, of Willow Springs.

B-Flight winners were Danny Landsdown, of Bucyrus, and Linda Benyo, of Willow Springs. Second place went to Amber and Jeremy Raney, both of Mountain Grove, while Doug and Donna Jones, both of Cabool, finished third.

Closest to the pin men’s winners included hole 2/11 and 5/14, Lee Smith, of Houston, and hole 7/16, Ted Noirfalise, of Cabool. Women’s winners were hole 2/11, Jackie Smith, of Houston, and holes 5/14 and 7/16 Jody Jarrett, of Cabool. A big thank you to our CTP sponsors Legacy Bank and Trust in Mountain Grove; McGownd Auto Sales in Mountain Grove; Peoples Community Bank in Cabool and WD Logistics in Cabool.

Thank you to Ted Noirfalise for installing the fairway yardage markers. This was a big job due to the heat and dry conditions. These in-ground colored markers should survive the mowings indefinitely.

Congratulations to Jackie Smith, who had three birdies during a recent Monday women’s league. League times for the women’s league is Monday and Wednesday at 9 a.m., men’s on Tuesday at 6 p.m and Cat and Dog is Friday at 6 p.m. Nonmembers can play for $5 league fees and rental carts are available. The daily game plays at 1:30 p.m. with the exception of Mondays. Cost to nonmembers to play in this game is $16 weekdays and $18 weekends.

Upcoming tournaments include the Cabool Education Foundation on Aug. 8, Cabool Kiwanis on Aug. 22 and the Kathy Noirfalise Memorial Lady Scramble on Sept. 12.
