Venita Faye (Bennett) Jemes was born Nov. 8, 1940, and departed this life Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 20 days. Venita was united in marriage to Clinton Jemes on July 18, 1959, and to this union two sons were born. Venita gave her life to Christ at an early age and attended Mount Zion Cuba Freewill Baptist Church.

Venita is survived by her husband, Clinton; one son, Kenneth Jemes and his wife, Debbie, of Grovespring; three granddaughters, Jessica Palmer and her husband, Jeff, of Hartville; Tracy Dixon and her husband, Dustin, of Mansfield; and Mira Jemes, of Thorne, Miss.; one grandson, William Jemes and his wife, Kaylee, of Grovespring; six great-grandchildren, Sarah and Mason Palmer, Rylee, Braydon and Kinsley Dixon and Clara Jemes; three sisters, Hazel Perkins and her husband, Dean; Charlotte Milanovich and her husband, Danny; and Wanda Barner and her husband, Ron; two brothers, Melvin Bennett and his wife, Pauline, and Richard Bennett and his wife, Mildred; one sister-in-law, Venola Bennett; several nieces and nephews and many close friends.

Those preceding her in death include one son, Kevin Jemes; her parents, Jake and Lora Bennett; one granddaughter, Kelly Jemes; one brother, Lorain Bennett; and one sister, Vivian Nelson.

Funeral Service for Venita was Monday, Jan. 31, 2022, at Shadel’s Colonial Chapel, in Lebanon. Visitation began at 1 p.m. with burial to follow at Mt. Zion/Cuba Cemetery in Wright County.
