Timothy Wayne Green

Timothy Wayne Green, son of Harvey Sr. and the late Wilma (Cook) Green, was born on Aug. 16, 1966, in Kansas City and passed away on Monday, July 26, 2021, at his home at the age of 54. Tim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Tim grew up in Kansas City, and briefly lived in Oregon as a child. He attended high school at Mountain Grove. He proudly joined the Army in 1984, where he served in the 101st Airborne division in Fort Campbell, Ky. Tim later attended Pittsburg State University’s HVAC program from 1991-1993 and worked in this field for several years. He was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Penny Davis, on April 8, 2011. Tim enjoyed collecting Hot Wheels and comic books, along with other items from the 70s and 80s. He enjoyed fishing and being outdoors. He was a good cook and great with computers. He was an avid reader and he especially enjoyed reading history and science fiction. Tim had a tough exterior, but he was a great friend to those around him. He was always the first person to offer to help when someone was in need. Friendships were important to him, and he enjoyed spending time with his close friends, Monty, Jeff and Lonnie. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Tim’s pets also held a special place in his heart.

 Tim is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Penny Green; daughter, Kendra Branstetter; daughter, Brittany Sutton Green; son, Kaleb Tacket; and grandson, Samuel Ruffin. He is also survived by his father, Harvey Green Sr.; brother, Harvey Green Jr.; sister, Susan Leichter; half-sister, Janice Zickefoose; half-brother, Bob Green; half-sister, Karen Green; and half-sister, Darlene Atkinson; along with a multitude of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Wilma Green; sister, Ida “Rene” Davis; and half-sister, Debbie Jones. Memorial services for Timothy Green will be held Saturday, Aug. 21, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Faith Community Church of the Nazarene, Mountain Grove, with the Rev. Josh Griffith and the Rev. Adam Parrish officiating. Military honors will be presented by the United States Army and American Legion Post No. 30.  Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with expenses, in care of the funeral home.  Cremation and services are under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
