Three Mountain Grove CC runners advance to state

Three Mountain Grove cross country runners have qualified for the Class 3 state championships after having strong performances in the Class 3, District 5 race held on Saturday at Lake Pomme de Terre.

As a team, the Panthers were third place overall after two runners earned Top-15 finishes.

Brayden Hensley was seventh overall out of 54 runners with a time of 18:41.92. Andrew Norris was 11th place with a time of 18:54.35.

Dale Shaeffer earned a Top-20 finish after finishing 20th (20:02.17). Other runners include Trenton Harker (20:09.99), Owen Nelson (22:42.21), Charles Norman (25:19.80) and Levi Alluisi (26:41.08).

Macey Penner led the Lady Panthers by earning her trip to state after finishing fourth overall with a time of 21:22.02.

Abby Fry was in 18th place with ha time of 24:55.14. Other runners included Kimberlie Busalaki (28:25.68), Haylee Proctor (30:00.30), Raleigh Holman (32:03.61), Trinity Elliott (34:29.84) and Belle Bohnenkamp (36:46.53).

As a team, the Lady Panthers were fourth place overall. State qualifiers will now compete in the Class 3 State Championships slated for Thursday, Nov. 7 at the Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia. The girls race starts at 12:30 p.m. followed by the boys race at 3 p.m.
