Hartville head coach Steve Sanders could not help but smile after his Lady Eagles made their third tournament finals appearance this season become a charm last Thursday.
After advancing to the title game previously in Blue Eye and Norwood already this season, this time they finally left with championship hardware when they knocked off No. 1 seed Salem in the finals of the State Farm Insurance Holiday Tournament played in Mountain Grove, 60-51.
“This was our third championship game already,” Sanders noted. “We were disappointed in what happened in Norwood. I could tell (tonight) by how we went out defensively, we were ready.”
