Tent Revival currently ongoing in Mountain Grove

Mountain Grove is currently the host site for a Tent Revival that organizers planned with no end date set at their location on E. 19th St., just to the left side of the Ozark Medial Center Medical Complex. The Tent Revival began on Monday, Sep. 14 at 6:30 p.m. and is running every evening.

“America is first and foremost in trouble right now,” said Mountain Moving Ministry Director Johnathan McClure, who is assisting with the Tent Revival.

“Depression has gone through the roof. Suicides have gone through the roof. Relapse has gone through roof and America is burning down so we believe that the only thing that will fix what is going on right now is a movement of God. We are hoping this sparks in the heartland of America so we can do our part.”

McClure said The Way church has been praying for a month every Saturday for the event. He also noted that there has been a group of people in the area praying for a revival for four years straight.

The Tent Revival features praise and worship every night with either a band or the use of a projector screen. Preachers and speakers from multiple denominations have been delivering the Word of God nightly.

“If we outgrow the tent, we will just take the tent down,” he said.

The revival has come together from the generosity of many individuals and groups. A ministry in Camdenton donated the tent. One church paid the $2,300 needed for insurance. Julie Thompson’s family donated the land while the Mountain Grove Fire Department is providing water. Churches also donated chairs.

“I really want to emphasize on the importance of unity within all denominations,” McClure continued. “It’s a unity revival is really what we are wanting.”
