Taking a closer look at the Lady Pirates

Statistical information is now available for the Norwood Lady Pirates softball team, who recently opened their season with a 1-2 record.

Their lone victory came against Walnut Grove, 4-1.

Kylee Bradshaw led Norwood with one RBI and one run scored. Cassie Chadwell added one RBI while Haylee Hall, Cadence Jarrett and Kinley Sinning each scored one run.

On the mound, Chadwell tossed seven innings and allowed just one earned run on eight hits with 10 strikeouts.

Norwood had opened their season with a 10-5 loss to rival Dora.

Brooke Johnson paced Norwood with two RBIs. Bradshaw had one RBI; both Hall and Chadwell scored twice; and Sinning scored one run.

On the mound, Chadwell went six innings and allowed 10 earned runs on 14 hits with four strikeouts and one walk. She also allowed a home run.

The Lady Pirates then fell to Seymour, 10-9.

Annie Sullivan had two hits and two RBIs while Chadwell had one RBI.

Natalie Lawson, Chadwell and Jarrett each scored two times while Autumn Gunter, Bradshaw and Johnson each scored one run.

Chadwell tossed six and two-thirds innings and allowed 10 earned runs on 14 hits with three strikeouts and one walk.
