Sylvia Marie Pyle, daughter of Roy and Maude (Arnall) Hutson, was born July 26, 1924, in Wright County Missouri, and departed this life on Jan. 4, 2022, at the age of 97 Years, 5 months and 9 days. She made Mansfield her home for over 60 years. Sylvia grew up in Wright County. She was united in marriage to Willard Leslie Pyle, Sr., on Aug. 10, 1940, and two children were born of this marriage, Willard Leslie Jr. and Lois Marie. Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, Willard; her son, Willard Jr.; and daughter-in- law, Margie; her daughter, Lois Kelley; and her son-in-law, Ferd Kelley; her father, Roy Hutson; and her mother, Maude; two brothers, Donald Hutson and Troy Hutson; and four sisters, Maxine Holt, Betty Johnson, Nellie Aldridge and Goldie Baer. She is survived by one brother, Leroy Hutson; four grandchildren, Terry Kelley, of Rogersville; Leslie Pyle, of West Plains; Brenda Williams and her husband, Pete, of Norwood, all of Missouri; and Mark Pyle and his wife, Angie, of Red Wing, Minn.; as well as 12 great-grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; and three great-great-great grandchildren. Sylvia was employed for over 30 years at the Tobin-Hamilton Shoe Factory in Mansfield, where she eventually retired in 1989 and spent her latter days enjoying sewing, quilting, playing piano, and her accordion. She was also a life-long member of the Gospel Music Association and a close friend of the gospel music singer Dottie Rambo. Sylvia loved her gardening and growing her beautiful flowers in her yard, and the entire town would rave over how beautiful they were. She so enjoyed helping many people in and around the community of whom she felt needed a helping hand. Sylvia (Grandma) was a very loving and kind-hearted person to all who knew and loved her. She accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized at a young age. She will be greatly missed.

Visitation for Sylvia M. Pyle was held Saturday, Jan. 8, 2022, from 12-1 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home-Mansfield. Funeral Services followed the visitation at 1 p.m., also at the funeral home, with the Rev. John Williams officiating. Jason Williams, Doug Pyle, Josh Pyle, Alex Kelley, Regan Kelley, Brannon Bates, Pete Williams and Terry Kelley served as pallbearers. Burial was in the Mansfield City Cemetery in Mansfield, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home-Mansfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Wolf Creek Church in care of the funeral home.
