Stephanie Clark, 53, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 2, surrounded by loving family as her big, bright, beautiful spirit broke free from her COVID-ridden body. She is survived by her son Asher Clark, of Ozark; parents, Roddy and Teresa Clark, of Mansfield; sisters, Shelly Clark, of Mansfield; Charlotte Christ, of Long Lane; and Marny Clark, of Bloomington, Ind.; brother, Byron Clark, of Mansfield; many nieces and nephews who knew her as Mammy; cousins galore; and friends across the country. Stephanie’s journey took her from Mansfield to Springfield, Kansas City, St Louis, and Columbia in Missouri, then New Jersey, Ohio and Massachusetts. She made friends everywhere she went, especially during the enchanted time she studied at SMS and worked Tent Theater in the company of fellow amazing artists. Friendships increased through her work as a healing massage therapist, loving caregiver, entertaining nanny and enthusiastic stage volunteer. Like moths, we were drawn to her flame. Generous, thoughtful and kind, Stephanie held all the babies and helped all she could. She was sharp as a tack, creative, talented and a true defender of people. Accepting and loving, she would make your cause her own and rally. Stephanie was wickedly funny, sharing her raucous laugh, quoting favorite movies or plays and breaking into song (sometimes in the voice of Ethel Merman). She was fiercely loyal, more than a little sassy, with a tender heart and a beautiful soul. Stephanie healed, baked, read, painted, sketched, sewed, created and always made the world a better place. She will be sorely missed yet continues in the hearts of all who knew her.

*A Celebration of Life will be held on her birthday, Sunday, Feb. 21, 2021, at 3020 Old Springfield Rd. in Mansfield at 2 p.m. This large facility allows for social distancing. Masks will be required.
