Mountain Grove will be welcoming a state official next week when the Wright County Farm Bureau holds its annual meeting Thursday, Sep. 10.
Chris Chinn, the Missouri Department of Agriculture Director, will be the guest speaker for the free brisket/ham dinner for farm bureau members.
Wright County Farm Bureau President Stan Coday, who also serves on the Missouri Farm Bureau Board of Directors, was able to change the date of the local bureau’s meeting to accommodate the director’s schedule.
Coday said he hopes the director may focus some of her remarks on the livestock industry, which is the primary commodity in Wright County.
The event will also have door prizes.
Wright County Farm Bureau members will be able to enter a drawing to win a rifle, cash or beef package from a local producer.
A pie auction and quilt raffle from a local artisan will also be held. Start time for the event is 6:30 p.m.
