Shirley Maxine (Mabe) Coffey was born April 11, 1958, in Manes, to Orville and Wilma Mabe and departed this life in her home surrounded by family and friends Tuesday morning, May 18, 2021, at 63 years, 1 month and 7 days of age. Shirley grew up in Manes and later moved to Mountain Grove. She was a homemaker and loved spending time outdoors: hunting, fishing, and planting flowers. She loved spending time with family, friends, her grandchildren and bossing around her husband, Larry Coffey. Shirley met Larry in March 2005, and they have been inseparable ever since. (Shirley wouldn’t let him go anyway!) Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Wilma Mabe; two sisters, Sandy Hicks and Rhonda Metty; and one brother-in-law, Bill Metty. She is survived by her husband, Larry Coffey; daughter, Tiffany Dugger, of Grovespring; son, Jonathon Dugger, of Grovespring; stepson, Brad Mabe, and his wife, Tammy, of Mountain Grove; stepdaughter, Kasey Mitchell and husband, Jeremy, of Houston; daughter-in-law, Jeanne Dugger; seven grandchildren, Kyerria, Devin, Preston, Delaney, Chloe, Trevor and Grayson; one new great-grandson, Stetson; brothers, Mike Mabe and David Johnson; along with many friends and family who will miss her dearly.

Visitation for Shirley Coffey was held Friday, May 21, 2021, from 6-8 p.m. at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 22, 2021, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home, with Rick Mabe officiating. Song selections were “Wind Beneath My Wings,” “Jealous of Angels” and “Tomorrow Jesus Comes.” Michael Joe Smith, Ron Roy, Lyndell Metty, Jeremy Mitchell, Dodey Buttram and Blake Medlock served as pallbearers.  Burial was in New Home Cemetery under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
