Sharon Vlay Stewart, daughter of John and Alma Booher, was born on April 10, 1939, in Shirleysburg, Pa. She was reunited with her late husband in the kingdom of heaven on Sep. 19, 2021, at her daughter’s home near Kasilof, Alaska, at the age of 82 years and 5 months. Sharon was born and raised in Pennsylvania. After completing college and earning her BSN, she began her 40-plus year career in nursing at a Pennsylvania state hospital. There she met the young Ronald Merle Stewart, an orderly at the hospital and unbeknownst to her, her lifelong love. The two were united in holy matrimony on Aug. 5, 1962, and from this union one son and three daughters were born. The young couple raised their family with Christ as their cornerstone and love their foundation. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Ronald Merle Stewart; her parents, John and Alma Booher; and her sister, Dee Donaldson.

Sister Sharon is survived by two brothers, Darrell Booher and Donald Booher,;four children, Gene Ronald Stewart Sr. and wife, Joanne, of Wyoming; Shawne Undercoffer, of Springfield;, Darla VancKleeck and husband, Jeff, of Hartville; and Suzee Milbauer and husband, Roy, of Kasilof, Alaska; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other dear family, church family and friends. A humble servant of the Lord and a dedicated and loving pastor’s wife, mother, sister and aunt. Sister Sharon loved spending time with all of her grandchildren, gardening, watching her hummingbirds, crafting and reading her Bible. She leaves behind a legacy of love, patience and compassion that will go unmatched for years to come. She will be so greatly missed by so many, but we can take comfort in the truth that, through Christ our savior, we will one day meet again. We can simply smile every time we see a hummingbird until then. Sharon was buried next to her husband at Durbin Cemetery on Monday, Sep. 27, 2021, under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. A family memorial service was held Monday, September 27, 2021, at 11:30 a.m. at Durbin Cemetery. Online condolences: www.craighurttfuneralhome.com
