Scotty Ray Allen

Scotty Ray Allen was born on May 26, 1966 to Bob and Doris (Hutsell) Allen, of Mountain Grove. He passed from this life on April 6, 2023, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield. He was 56 years, 10 months and 11 days of age. Scotty grew up in Graff and attended Mountain Grove Schools. After graduating, he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Gosnell Air Force Base in Gosnell, Ark. He returned to Graff in 1988 and was employed with the Brown Shoe Company for a short while. He later worked at Hutchens Industries in the foundry. In 1994, he joined the Wright County Sheriff’s Department as a commissioned deputy. He later attended academy, where he was named "Top Gun on the Revolver." He served as a deputy until 1998. In 2001, he married MaryBeth Arnold and they made their home on the family farm.  Scotty enjoyed genealogy, reading, hunting, spending time with his family and his beloved animals Boone, Bindy, Osa and Squatch.  Scotty is preceded in death by his father, Bob Allen.

He is survived by his loving wife, MaryBeth, of the home; his mother, Doris Allen, of Mountain Grove; one sister, Sherrie Ratterree, and her husband, Ed, of Cabool; one brother, Steve, and his wife, Diane, of Mountain Grove; two step-children, whom he loved as his own, John Elliott and wife, Amber, of Paragould, Ark., and Alonda Jones and her husband, Lance, of Mountain Grove; eight grandchildren, Lacy, Katie, Kiara (Owen), Reina, Kylee, Blane, Chase and Azlyn; two great-grandchildren, Remington and Claire; one niece, Jenny Lawler; and a host of family and friends that will miss him tremendously. A Masonic Service will be held at 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, April 15, 2023 at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will follow at 10 a.m., also at Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home.
