Robert Chester Caverly, son of the late Robert Chester and Dorothy (Sands) Caverly, was born Nov. 9, 1938, in Salem, Mass., and passed away at his home in Mountain Grove on Dec. 24, 2020 at 82 years of age. Robert married Dorothy Caley on April 23, 1957, in Pasadena, Calif. Three children were born to this union. Robert served his country in the United States Navy from 1956-1960.
Besides his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Teresa Lee Caverly, in 2005. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Caverly, of Mountain Grove; two sons, Michael Caverly and his wife, Kyra, of Mountain Grove, and Mark Caverly, of Springfield. Four grandchildren, Ethan, Adam, Meghan and Chelsey; four great-grandchildren, Ryder, Addison, Braden and Shyan; and other relatives and friends who will dearly miss him. Family graveside services will be planned at a later date at Hillcrest Cemetery. Cremation was under the direction of Craig-Hurtt Funeral Home, Mountain Grove.
