Pauline Ella “Polly” Littlewood, of Hartville, was the daughter of Robert Frances and Ella Elizabeth (Corbin) Sumpter; she was born April 12, 1932 in LaJunta, Colo. and departed this life on Dec. 22, 2020, in Licking at the age of 88 years. Polly grew up on a ranch in Smith canyon, close to La Junta, Colo. She went to High School in La Junta before marrying George Arthur Littlewood on June 30, 1949. After marriage, they moved to the Daugherty Ranch to work and moved to Lakin, Kan. in 1952 to work on a ranch there, moving back to Colorado in 1964 where they bought a ranch in Higbee, Colo. They stayed there until their grandkids moved to Missouri and they followed them there in 1980 and resided there until the present time. Polly is survived by her children, Elizabeth Ann Littlewood Sincliar, of Hartville; Georgia McCloy and her husband, Bill, of Licking; and George Robert “Bud” Littlewood and Traci, of Hartville; eight grandchildren, Mindi Owens (Rian Sansom), Cody McCloy, Otey McCloy (Kathy), Ben McCloy (Brandy), James Littlewood, David Littlewood, Amanda Littlewood and Jake Sinclair; 11 great-grandchildren (and one on the way), Kayla, Paxton, Tessa, Chrislyn and Alissa Owens, Cooper, Grady and Nash McCloy and Cole, Jasper and Knox McCloy; a brother, Frank Sumpter and his wife, Lenda, of Kim, Colo.; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a brother, Bobby Sumpter. Polly was a faithful member of the Little Creek Baptist Church in Hartville. She had served as secretary, was active in the women’s axillary, enjoyed teaching bible school and being a deacon’s wife. She loved her church and serving in any way that was needed, including helping with the church’s food pantry. Polly and her husband enjoyed team penning and were the 1991 Champions. She also enjoyed riding horses and helping with the cattle. She loved her flowers, but most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids and attending all their activities. Family was always her biggest and greatest love. Polly was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. We celebrate her life and will always cherish the many special memories she created. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020 at Little Creek Baptist Church in Hartville with the Rev.
