Posted

The world became a little dimmer on Jan. 6, 2021 after the passing of Patsy “Pat” Ohler. She referred to herself as “a feisty old bird,” but after many years, she lost her fight with COPD and Alzheimer’s at the age of 83.

Pat was born to loving parents; Dwain and Lena (Myers) Atteberry on Aug. 22, 1937. She loved to reminisce of old times and shared beautiful stories of her childhood. Stories of walking hand and hand with her father, as well as the little fox that she raised and of course the little hamster that she would carry around in her pocket. Her lieart went out to all animals and she always had a beloved dog by her side.  Pat was a devoted mother of three sons, Rodney Barrett ,of Atwood, Ill.; Roger Barrett (Rebecca), of Champaign, Ill.; and Ron Barrett (Karlene), of Mansfield. Pat was a loving grandmother to Nicole Barrett, Tristan Barrett, Matthew Swango, Roger “Buddy” Barrett (Angel), Candace Keeton and her husband, Charles, Shawn Barrett and his wife, Dakota, and Jack Haws and his wife, Bobbi. Pat was blessed with many great grandchildren, Ashley, Raiden, Trent, Brock, Braxton, Brady and Brynah. Pat had one great-great grandchild; Jaxon.  She worked in the food industry for years and everyone agrees that she made the best mayonnaise cake ever. Pat enjoyed gardening and could grow the biggest radishes around. Pat is survived by her sister, Judy “Elzi”; all three sons; her grandchildren; great grandchildren; and greatgreat grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald Ohler.

She will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved her. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
