American flags were being waved in the air and the United States of America was celebrated during a patriotic community sing event held at the Mountain Grove square on Saturday, Aug. 1.
Nearly 50 area residents joined together for the Pledge of Allegiance.
They also sang the national anthem, “God Bless America” and “America The Beautiful.”
The event was sponsored by the VFW Auxiliary No. 3770. Nancy Smith, President of District 18 for the VFW Auxiliary, led participants through the event.
A VFW Post No. 3770 and Auxiliarry hamburger/ice cream picnic will be held Aug. 8.
