Panthers players honored, Means gets All-State nod

More honors continued to pour in last week for players from the Mountain Grove Panthers football team.

Class 3, District 6

The Class 3, District 6 team was announced and several Panthers earned honors.

Those players named All-District include Jase Dowden (TE), Gaven Moore (DE), Hunter Means (DL), Tyson Elliott (QB), Hollen Glenn (WR), Drew Vaughan (WR), Colton Allen (LB) and Bryce Stenzel (DB).

SWMFCA honors

The Southwest Missouri Football Coaches Association (SWMFCA) also gave out honors to some Panthers’ players in Class 3.

Quarterback Tyson Elliott was named the Offensive Player of the Year and received first-team honors. Hunter Glenn (WR) was a unanimous first-team selection. Hunter Means (OL, DL), was a first-team selection as both an offensive and defensive lineman.

Second-team offensive honors went to Dallas Lee (OL), Dowden (TE) and Vaughan (WR).

As for second-team defense, Allen (LB) and Stenzel (DB) were honored.

Brendan Rogers received second-team honors as a punter.

As for honorable mention, Gaven Moore (DE), Rogers (LB) and Glenn (DB) were each honored.

All-State Recognition

Finally, Hunter Means received second-team All-State honors as a defensive lineman for the Panthers in Class 3.
