Exactly one week ago, the Norwood Pirates dropped a tough 8-1 game to Mansfield.
Eager to get back on the field with a week layoff, the Pirates hosted Koshkonong on Sep. 23 and pulled away with an 11-1 victory. Norwood scored six runs in the bottom of the fifth inning paced by Garrett Davault’s two-RBI double.
Noah Drake had four RBIs to lead the Pirates while Davault finished with two hits, two RBIs and three runs scored. Max McGowan had two RBIs and two runs scored; Peyton McDaris had one RBI and one run scored; Toby Cottengim scored twice; Dylan Calhoun had one RBI; while both Cooper Vaughan and Brayden Wehrer scored one run.
On the mound, Cottengim tossed five innings and allowed one earned run on three hits with seven strikeouts.
