Norris takes third, Penner returns at Hollister race

Runners for both the Mountain Grove boys and girls cross country teams had strong performances at the Hollister Invitational on Sep. 16.

The Panthers were led by senior Andrew Norris, who was a third place medalist with his time of 17:52.25. Norris’ time was a personal best as he averaged a 5:46 mile. Senior Brayden Hensley just missed earning a medal with his 22nd place time of 19:57.60. Trenton Harker was not too far behind as he took 34th out of 130 runners with a time of 20:34.38.

Other finishers include Owen Nelson (21:59.91, personal best time), Kent Taylor (23:40.93), Connor Long (26:00.21), Charles Norman (26:07.31) and Trent Homer (26:16.03).

Though she didn’t medal, senior Macey Penner returned from an injury for the Lady Panthers.

She did have the team’s best time of 24:18.67 for 26th place.

Freshman Lilly Hines was 44th out of 85 runners with a time of 27:54.94. The other finishers included Haylee Proctor (30:28.44), Abigail Fry (30:32.40), Ashley Madderra (32:09.89), Samantha Peterson (32:41.73), Kimberlie Busalaki (33:42.80), Taylor Hicks (34:35.59), Rileigh Holman (36:54.15) and Belle Bohnenkamp (38:30.10). Both teams were seventh place in the team standings.
