Norma Lee (Gay) Meacham, daughter of the late Dona and Beulah (Stopher) Gay, was born Sep. 21, 1932, near Gazette, and passed away Nov. 20, 2020, at Autumn Oaks Caring Center in Mountain Grove. She was 88 years, 1 month and 30 days of age.
Norma grew up in Wellsville and graduated from Wellsville High School. As a child at home, Norma enjoyed training, grooming and riding the family’s horses. After high school, she moved to St. Charles, and worked for the telephone company for many years. In her spare time, she enjoyed working in oil paintings. Later in life, she married Warren Meacham. She also worked in health care as a nurse’s aide in nursing homes as well as home health care.
Besides her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Warren Meacham; two brothers, Don and James Gay; and one sister, Sybil Howell. She is survived by two brothers, Ralph Gay and his wife, Natalie, of Springfield, Ill., and Ray Gay, of Manchaca, Texas; and one sister, Dorothy Zumpano, of Santa Clara, Calif.
Funeral services for Norma Meacham will be held Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2020, at 10 a.m. at Cabool Assembly of God with Bro. Doyle Coffman officiating. Junior Vaughn, Darrel Loughridge, Sam Mudd, Bill Lynch, Dwain Allmon and Thomas Lyons will serve as pallbearers.
